What Does The HSA Do?

With all of your volunteer hours, donations and positive support we accomplish all of the things below which helps our children and school community continue to grow! Below is a summary of some of the things the HSA supports.

3rd Grade Ancient Civilizations Day: This event is organized as a cooperation between 3rd grade teachers and the HSA, and includes guest speakers, crafts and other activities.

4th Grade PA Day: This event is organized as a cooperation between 4th grade teachers and the HSA, and includes guest speakers, crafts and other activities.

5th Grade Yearbook: All 5th graders are gifted a yearbook with photo memories spanning their time at East Goshen Elementary. The yearbook is compiled and published by the HSA 5th Grade Yearbook committee.

Adult Social: The HSA organizes a night out for the parents coordinated with a fundraiser.

Beautification and Landscaping: The Beautification Committee helps enhance the appearance of EGE through initiatives such as the establishment and maintenance of planting areas and the front lobby.

Bingo Night: Organized by 5th grade parents and students to fund the 5th grade field trip.

Community Outreach: The Community Outreach Committee organizes Feed the Hungry, the Coin Drive, visits to Bellingham by the students, and other social outreach efforts.

Fall Family Fun Event: The HSA organizes a school wide picnic with food trucks and music on the playground.

Field Trips: The HSA provides financial support for busing for school field trips.

Donut Days: Almost once a month a grade level invites a special person to enjoy breakfast with them before school. The breakfast is catered by the HSA’s Hospitality Committee.

Welcome Back Social: New and returning families are invited to play together on the EGE Playground, to meet and enjoy light refreshments provided by the Hospitality Committee.

Outdoor Classroom and Garden: The Outdoor Classroom and Garden in the school's courtyard was designed and funded by the HSA, and the garden is maintained through HSA volunteers.

Ropes Course: In April the ropes course on the school playground is inspected and readied for use. The 3rd, 4th and 5th graders, with support of many parent volunteers, enjoy a half-day to a full-day on the course. The HSA also pays for the maintenance of the ropes course.

School Directory: The HSA funds and maintains the online family directory.

Spirit Wear: The HSA designs, orders and sells t-shirts and other EGE Spirit wear.

Staff Luncheons: The Hospitality Committee organizes and caters staff luncheons on parent/teacher conference days and at the end of the school year with help from parent food donations.

Student Published Books: At the end of the school year, every EGE student will bring home a hardcover book that they have written and illustrated. The HSA provides support by typing up the younger students’ work, and printing and assembling the books.
